Acoustic Electric
Guitar
Though it will depend on what type of music you play,
acoustic guitar can almost always be a great addition to any
live show. There are some kinds of music that it won’t fit in
with very well, but there are also many types that depend on it
to get the perfect sound. Though you can play an acoustic in a
small place and everyone will hear it, there are times when you
need to amplify the sound. One of the best ways to do this is
to use an acoustic electric guitar. You get
the great acoustic sound you want without having to try to mike
up the guitar through the sound system, which can be heard to
get just right.
My husband has an acoustic electric guitar,
but he doesn’t use it very much any more. He used to be in a
band that needed one, and he was the one that went out to buy
it. Though there were a lot of different kinds of acoustic
electric guitars from which to choose, he went with the one
that had the best sound. This isn’t always an option for some
bands though. Sometimes you have to go with what you can
afford, and if you only need it for a song or two, you may not
want to blow big bucks to get one.
It’s not just a band that might use an acoustic electric
guitar. Many who are solo performers like to use one as well.
Though many of them are plugged in, I do think you can get a
wireless one so that you have more freedom of motion. You do
have to be careful when you get close to microphones with an
acoustic electric guitar though, because you may end up with
feedback, just like with an electric. It’s not much of an issue
usually, but if you are playing in a cramped space you might
have worries.
If you want to save a lot of money on an acoustic electric
guitar, you can buy one used. If you only need it for a song,
you really don’t want to spend a lot of money to get one. You
can find them almost anywhere you buy other types of guitars,
and some shops will have used models that you can buy. You can
also look on eBay or in your local paper for classified ads.
Just make sure you plug it in and play it before you buy. You
don’t want to buy an acoustic electric guitar that sounds bad
no matter how good the deal is you are being offered.
